DEAFENED GIANTS
Deafened Giants tells the story of Kai, a 12-year-old boy, who finds himself drowning in an overwhelming sea of noise.
His ordeal mirrors the marine creatures’ struggle with the underwater noise pollution that is disrupting their habitat and jeopardising their survival.
Marine creatures use vocalisations and clicks to communicate, navigate and survive.
Commercial shipping, oil exploration, and other human activities have created a cacophony of noise, now ten times louder than in the 1960s, causing stress, disorientation, and even death amongst marine creatures.
